Thracian Ancient Tomb of Pomorie

Ancient tomb of Pomorie is located west of the town of Pomorie, near the road Pomorie – Burgas. The tomb dates back to the II – III c. AD. Hr. It is believed that it served zaheroon (mausoleum) of a rich Anhialo family, which have performed religious pagan rituals. The tomb consists of a corridor (dromos) with a length of 22 meters and a circular chamber with a diameter of 11.60 meters and a height of 5.50 meters. It is built of stone and bricks. The tomb is vaulted with a semi-cylindrical vault in the center of which is a hollow column with a diameter of 3.30 meters, which extends upward and merges with the outer wall. Reserve “Old Pomorie Houses” is located near the beach, at the eastern end of the old part of Pomorie and presents the architecture and the specific elements of the houses on the beach.
